When is the best time to start preparing for JEE exams?

In order to crack IIT JEE, candidates require strong preparation. The syllabus is vast and if they want to master all the topics candidates should start preparing at least when they are in 11th standard or at least two years in advance. Remember it is not only about preparing but candidates also need to have enough time for revisions. This is an important study exercise as well.

Has NTA introduced any new changes in the JEE syllabus?

No, there is no change in the JEE syllabus. It is still the same as the previous years.

What does the JEE study material comprise?

Normally the JEE study material consists of several things such as study notes, question papers, video lectures, books, etc. Candidates can use these study materials to not only get a better understanding of the important concepts but they can significantly boost their preparation level.

What are the subjects included in JEE?

There are three primary science subjects that students have to study and master for JEE. The subjects include Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Usually, Maths and Physics are on the difficult side with tricky and numerical questions while Chemistry is easier and mostly consists of direct questions.

Will candidates be allowed to use a calculator or any other device in the exam?

No. Candidates will not be allowed to carry or use calculators or any other electronic device during the exams.

Will the candidate have to fill up a different application form for every session?

There is absolutely no requirement for the candidate to fill up multiple application forms. The candidate has to fill up only one application form for all sessions. If he fills up the form now, the same form will be shown for later sessions. (March/April/May) However, students must keep in mind that they can appear for the JEE Main exam for three consecutive years. Hence, it is essential that students must prepare themselves well for the first attempt, so that they do not have to appear repeatedly.

What is the total time duration of the examination for students who wish to appear for both B. Arch as well as B. Planning?

The admit cards are usually released in the month of August, until then all candidates are allowed to make corrections to their forms. All candidates who wish to appear in both Paper 2A and Paper 3B are allotted a total time duration of about 3.30 hours. This is from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm. The exam is conducted in various regions of India as well as abroad. Students must always keep a track of their study schedule and their objectives to ensure they make it.

Can the candidate apply for another session after the result has been declared?

The candidate is given a chance to apply for the next sessions which will be held in the months of March or April or May. The application window is reopened briefly after the declaration of results. However, instead of appearing, again and again, students must focus on clearing the JEE Examinations on the very first attempt. Students can also solve previous year’s papers for checking their preparation level, understand the pattern of the examination and learn how to manage time during the examination.

Is NCERT sufficient for the JEE mains?

Experts highly recommend NCERT for JEE Main preparation. According to them, studying NCERT is adequate for passing JEE Main. Candidates prefer to opt for the JEE Main 2022 study material because it follows the prescribed curriculum and covers almost all topics.
